About the Project
I was approached by author Erik Hansson for illustrating the maps for the 32 places featured in the book. The goal was to have maps that would be accurate and usable on the field, but with a nice illustrative touch to them.
All base geographical information (roads, paths, forested areas, etc.) was sourced from open geodata provided by Lantmäteriet (the Swedish national mapping, cadastral and land registration authority), and integrated when necessary by the author’s own field notes.
All maps were created digitally using a combination of QGis, ClipStudio Paint and Affinity Publisher, during a period of several months between October 2023 and June 2024.
